Akubela Singapore: HyPanel smart home panels, smart locks and the BelaHome app
Akubela is a smart home brand from Akuvox, best known for its HyPanel wall-mounted touch panels, which act as a control screen, a gateway and a video intercom in one. In Singapore, The Smart Home is an authorised Akubela dealer and installer with its own in-house team, and you can try every HyPanel model at our Henderson Road showroom.
Who Akubela suits
Akubela sits in our Value range, alongside EAE. It is a good fit if you:
- want one screen on the wall that controls lights, curtains, air-con and the door, without a separate intercom panel;
- live in a condo or HDB flat and want a modern smart home without a designer-panel budget;
- like the idea of starting small, such as a panel in the living room and a smart lock, and adding rooms later;
- want to control the home from your phone as well as the wall, through the BelaHome app.
If the look of every switch matters most, our Signature range (Moorgen, Lutron and Vimar) is worth comparing at the showroom.
What makes Akubela different
Most smart homes need a hub hidden in a cabinet, an intercom by the door and a row of switches on every wall. Akubela’s idea is to fold those jobs into the HyPanel. On its official HyPanel Pro page, Akubela describes the panel as an intercom, security panel, control screen, gateway, sensor and wall switch in one. The Pro also has a built-in infrared blaster for older appliances, a power meter and temperature and humidity sensors, and its camera has a privacy shutter. It can run over your local network.
Akubela’s own site also reports that the HyPanel won a Red Dot design award in 2023.
The system grows with add-ons. Akubela makes wireless sensors, dimmers, curtain motors, air-con controllers and smart plugs, plus a set of KNX add-ons for homes wired for KNX.
Our installs use both KNX and Zigbee. KNX suits homes being rewired during a renovation, while Zigbee wireless devices avoid new cabling, so we can match the system to your home.
The Akubela range at The Smart Home
We currently list 24 Akubela products. The main families are:
HyPanel touch screens
The heart of the system, in sizes and styles for every room. The HyPanel Supreme, HyPanel Ultra and HyPanel Pro are the flagship screens for the living room or entrance. The HyPanel Elite 10 and Elite 7, HyPanel Plus, HyPanel Lite 6 and HyPanel suit bedrooms and smaller spaces. The HyPanel KeyPlus adds physical buttons, and the SmartPanel Pro and SmartPanel offer a simpler screen.
HyPanel Lux and Aura switches
For a more decorative look, the Lux family comes in three shapes: the Lux Piano with a rotary control, the Lux Ring and the Lux Vase. The Aura Smart Switch replaces ordinary switches in rooms that don’t need a screen.
Smart locks
Four digital locks complete the entrance: the SL60 Video Lock, SL50, F2 and C6.
App, assistant and add-ons
The BelaHome app puts the whole home on your phone, and the Bela Smart Living Assistant is a voice and AI assistant built for the Akubela system. You can run lights, curtains and other devices by speaking, which makes everyday control easier for seniors and anyone with limited mobility. The Multifunctional Gateway G32, wireless add-ons and KNX add-ons connect the lights, curtains, sensors and air-con.

What affects the cost of an Akubela smart home
We quote Akubela per home rather than off the shelf, because the price depends on:
- Which HyPanels you choose. A flagship screen at the entrance costs more than a compact panel in a bedroom.
- How many rooms you cover. One living room is very different from the whole home.
- What you connect. Lights only, or lights plus curtains, air-con, sensors and a smart lock.
- Zigbee or KNX. Zigbee wireless devices suit existing homes; KNX suits a full renovation with new wiring.
- Installation and set-up. Our in-house team installs, programmes scenes and shows you the app.

Who makes Akubela?
Akubela is a smart home brand from Akuvox, a maker of smart video intercoms. That is why video intercom and door entry are built into many HyPanel models.
Can I use Akubela in an HDB flat?
Yes. Akubela works in HDB flats with no special limits, and Zigbee wireless devices mean less rewiring in a flat you already live in. We check your layout before quoting.
Can I control Akubela from my phone?
Yes. The BelaHome app lets you control lights, curtains, air-con and other connected devices from your phone.
Does Akubela work with KNX and Zigbee?
Yes. Akubela makes KNX add-ons as well as wireless devices, and we install it on both KNX and Zigbee.
Are you an authorised Akubela dealer?
Yes. The Smart Home is an authorised Akubela dealer and installer in Singapore, with its own in-house installation team, so the people who design your system also install and programme it.
How is Akubela different from Moorgen?
Akubela focuses on all-in-one touch screens with built-in intercom at a value price. Moorgen focuses on designer switches and finishes in our Signature range. Many clients compare both at the showroom.
